Home CCTV

Protecting a home without spoiling it

Most home systems cover the front door, driveway, side access and rear garden. We choose compact cameras, hide cables where we can and set sensitivity so you are alerted to people, not passing cats or branches.

We also talk through privacy: pointing cameras at your own property, using signage where needed and keeping neighbours' windows and gardens out of view.

Expert guide

Home CCTV installation in London: what to plan before you buy

Where to put home CCTV cameras

Most homes need cameras on the front door, driveway or parking space, side access and rear garden. We mount cameras out of easy reach, angle them to capture faces rather than rooftops and keep neighbours’ windows and gardens out of the picture. A short survey of your property lets us place each camera where it earns its keep.

Night vision, resolution and storage

Colour night vision helps most where there is some ambient light, while infrared suits dark side passages. Higher resolution cameras capture more detail for identification, but they also need a larger recorder drive. We size the recorder to the number of days of footage you want to keep and explain playback and export before we leave.

Privacy and UK GDPR at home

Cameras that only view your own property are treated differently from those that capture public footpaths or neighbouring homes. We talk through placement, privacy masking and signage, and point you to the ICO’s guidance for domestic CCTV. This is practical advice, not legal advice.

Reliable phone viewing

App viewing depends on a stable internet connection at home. Where signal is weak we can improve it with Wi-Fi installation or run cable with network cabling, so alerts and live view stay dependable. For a wider view of what we offer see our CCTV installation page and the 40 London areas we cover.

Request a callback
Will cameras work at night?

Yes. We choose models with infrared or colour night vision for each view.

Do I need a monthly subscription?

Not for a standard recorder-based system. Cloud options are optional and we explain the costs first.

How much does home CCTV cost?

It depends on the number of cameras, how hard the cable routes are and the recorder size. After a free survey you receive a fixed written quote before any work starts.

Can I watch my cameras when I am away?

Yes. We set up the phone app so you can see live view and playback anywhere with an internet connection, and we show you how to use it.

How long is footage kept?

That depends on the recorder drive size, the number of cameras and the recording settings. We size it for the number of days you ask for.

Do you install CCTV in flats and terraced houses?

Yes. We plan around shared access and cable routes, and recommend checking permissions with your landlord or freeholder where needed.
